Red Team Recap, Game 1
Though the core of the red team remained the same from last year, vital experience was lost with the retirement of Jim and Larry.
However, Red Team Manager countered the lose of experience with the addition of youth and speed.
These additions proved valuable throughout the night.
Philip leading off pumped the team up with an ultra fast single, beating out a throw from SS to first.
Paul and Chris both joined the clear the fences club with HRs
Kyle provided solid support at catcher, showing a great ability to track down pop up fouls.
Nathan shows bursts of speed and great sense of play.
Some of the highlights of the game:
Giving away old bats at the end of the game. It is safe to say composite now rules the red teams roost with nearly every player using the blue mayhem or the red wrath.
Strike out club. We have a couple members, be on the look out for your club card and decoder ring! I have enjoyed mine throughout the years.
1 – 2 pitching punch, we have two pitchers, allowing us to have the switch half way through. For those of you who have tried to hit in this situation, it sucks. Once you get used to one, here comes another. This can be a show stopper.
Self Subbing. Fantastic, makes the manager job easy, ensures fresh legs and overlap on positions.
BIG GAME NEXT WEEK!!
Soaring eagles are a tough team being a mix of wiley veterans and skilled young’uns. However, it looks like either the blue team is a darkhorse contender or they are loosing a step, barely beating the blue team 6 to 5.
Game is at 7:15 Lynnwood #3
Practice this week: Sunday @ Jackson High School softball field, 2:00
